Abstract
The article provides information about the history and fate of the military eras of
the Austro-Hungarian and German empires, including the brigades, regiments and legions
composed of Czech prisoners during the First World War. Besides, article showed that the
successful actions of the Czech Druzhina made it possible to continue recruiting volunteers
not only from among compatriots, but also from among the Czech prisoners of war in Russia
(in Turkestan).
