Bhakti Theory in Sankardeva’s Uttakanda Ramayana – An Analytical Study

Abstract
Srimanta Sankardeva, the founder of Neo-Vaishnavism, wrote Bargeet, Ankiya Nata, Bhatima, Dharma Granth etc. for the purpose of propagating the religion of Ekasharan Harinam and also wrote the Uttara Kanda of Ramayana. Madhava Kandali wrote the Saptakanda Ramayana in Assamese, but as the Adi and Uttarakanda were lost in the Ramayana written by him, Madhavadeva completed the Ramayana by writing Adikanda and Shankardeva by writing Uttakanda. Since Mahapurush Shankardev preached the Dharma of Eksharan Harinam, the basic principle of Tera is ‘Ekdev Eksev Ekbine Nahi Kev’.
