Examining OCB among Secondary School Teachers

Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behaviour enhances productivity and efficiency among the
employees. This behaviour is not the part of their duty but they do it freely with their choice
and preference.OCB covers five dimensions- altruism, conscientiousness, sportsmanship,
civic virtue and courtesy. Teachers are torch bearers who play a major role for development
of society. This research paper is an effort to examine organizational citizenship behaviour of
teachers. Both Rural and Urban teachers were part of sample of study. Percentage analysis
was done to find levels of OCB among Rural and Urban teachers as well among male and
female teachers. Significant difference was found in OCB of rural and Urban teachers and
Male and Female teachers.
