Factors Influencing Students' Decision to Pursue a Career in Hospitality

Abstract

The demand for human resources in the hotel management industry is continually rising as a
result of the robust expansion of tourism. Hotel management has been ranked among the top 3
most attractive industries in recent years. A medium-sized hotel manager makes 10 to 15
million VND per month, while a 5-star hotel manager might earn up to 45 million VND per
month. The Center for Human Resource Forecasting and Labor Market Information in Ho Chi
Minh City predicts that there would be a long-term shortage of qualified candidates for
managerial jobs in the restaurant and hotel industries. The results of this study indicate that the
following elements play a role in individuals' intentions to enter the hotel industry: Salary,
cultural background, communication with people throughout the world, and proficiency in
various languages
