“Thirty Days in September and Tara: An Ordeal of Scarred Psyches”

Resumen

Mahesh Dattani is a playwright who invests each one of his plays in the spirit of social
concern. He tends to the struggles of the marginalized. In 30 Days in September, he has
discussed the problem of child sexual abuse in numerous families. However, this has never
been a significant issue with the general public. Dattani has tried to focus on the mental
trauma and pain the victims, and the survivors go through. Tara is not simply the account of
the girl's life, but it brings many issues to the forefront. The gender-based discrimination,
physical disability, and the prejudices which are attached to it have been discussed. In this
paper, an endeavor is made to examine how Mahesh Dattani is aware of the hidden issues and
how those issues ruin the characters' lives and leave scars on the psyche for a lifetime.
