Bankers’ Responses to Changing Technologies in Banking – An explorative study of scheduled commercial banks in Chikkamagaluru district

Resumen

The financial technology embedded in banking services is a common feature. Banking
services are available on the palm top of common man with the mobile banking growing
stronger. The Chikkamagaluru district is situated in southwestern part of Karnataka state in
India have significantly lesser banking coverage. This study has focused on technology
acceptance by the bankers and service quality, which in turn have influenced the customer
satisfaction. The present study is justified on the ground that the essential financial services of
the banking, which needs high penetrations to the large mass is, advised a better way in the
delivery mechanism throw the recommendations. The study area selected for the present
research work is banking officials of Chikkamagaluru district Karnataka. Random sampling
method is used for the sample size of 153 bank employees in 59 branches of seven Taluks of
Chikkamagaluru district. The present researches used percentage and mean to analyse the data
with the help of databases and software namely Mendeley, MS Word 2010, MS Excel 2010
and trial version of IBM SPSS Statistics 21. Chikkamagaluru has a good commercial banking
network, which is able to serve the knowledge society ably. The electronic industry is moving
on the fast track. Society is keeping pace with technology advancement and bankers are
sprucing up their modules of services. Thus, banks have bright future through updating to the
changing world.
