Dual-Polarized Self-Decoupled MIMO Antenna for Mid-band 5G and CBand Applications
Contenido principal del artículo
Resumen
This work presents the analysis of a dual-band dual-polarised dual-Split ring resonator
(SRR) two-port multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna. The antenna design
contains radiating patch with a feed line with two differently sized SRRs attached to the
feedline to achieve a circularly polarised (CP) radiation pattern. The slotted plane with stubs
acts as a ground plane on the bottom surface. Linear polarisation is produced in first band and
the circular polarisation is achieved in second band. The entire two-port MIMO antenna has
the dimensions of 0.26 λ0 × 0.57 λ0 × 0.019 λ0 (45 x 20 x 1.6 mm3) at 3.7 GHz. This antenna
offers the 3.58–3.97 GHz and 6.05 – 6.4 GHz impedance bands and the 6.14–6.38 GHz axial
ratio band applicable for mid-band 5G and C-band applications. The antenna has exceptional
isolation characteristics without the usage of any decoupling mechanisms, enhanced
envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) and better gain.
